A short while ago, based in part on suggestions from the Lasso Community, we made the decision to move the Lasso 9 documentation toward a collaboration effort between LassoSoft and Lasso developers. We believe that through collaboration, the documentation will reflect the voice of the developer community.
When content needs to be updated or modified, it will be quick, easy, and reflected immediately. Tracking changes, the ability to comment, and more, will be of great benefit to Lasso users. We expect it to be an improvement over the current format, and it is in line with our goal to 'open up' the Lasso product and platform. We hope you will agree that it's a nice step in the right direction!
Now, on to the Lasso Documentation Wiki!
Anyone may view and comment on the wiki content. However, you must be a registered Zoho user to edit pages. Registration is easy, free, and only takes a minute:

We've created and setup the wiki system that will be used for the Lasso Documentation Wiki project, and we're hoping to unveil it and invite participants next week.
Aside from that we're continually working on our other commitments to the Lasso Community, and as always, we appreciate your support and involvement.
Please let us know if there's anything we can do to assist you with your Lasso endeavors!
Have a great weekend!

We have a few updates to share with you this week, before sending you on your way.
As you know, we've been working on the Lasso 9 documentation. We've been contemplating a few different approaches, and we've settled on one that we think you'll really like.
We've decided that the Lasso 9 documentation will be a collaboration between LassoSoft and the community. We have a framework that we're putting into place online, which will contain all related documentation to Lasso 9. We will then open the doors for developer participation.
The process will flow through a wiki style element, and we selected two members from the community who will fill the roles of editor - guiding the process along, checking format and technical aspects and contributing to the writing. They will also be the liaisons between the community and the LassoSoft Team (who will also be contributing, of course!).
We think that collaborating with the community is going to accomplish several things. Initially, it's going to allow us make some great strides toward getting the docs into a more useful state. As we move forward, it's going to allow the documentation to take the shape and direction that the developers think makes the most sense, with LassoSoft keeping tabs and contributing to ensure accuracy.
When something needs to be updated, modified, etc., it will be quick and easy, and reflected immediately. We will be easy to track changes and more. We expect it to be a great improvement over the current format. We hope you agree!
The other piece of news that I can share with you right now, although not fully because we're still working on some of the final details, regards the Lasso Professional Alliance. As you may recall, after the last Lasso Developer Conference I asked the community to participate in a poll concerning the LPA. We created three separate polls, which addressed the existing LPA members, previous members, and those who had never been a member.
LassoSoft has wanted to restructure the LPA for some time now. Based on the feedback that we received from the polls, direct feedback that I have received from developers in the community, and our own ideas of what would make a great program, we've come up with some new programs that we feel will offer the best value and services for the Lasso Community.
Current LPA members: we've got you covered. We'll be contacting you directly to discuss your options and answer any questions that you have. We'll be sharing the new programs with the community as soon as we've hammered out the final details.
The last update that I'll share with you regards the next Lasso Developer Conference. While not an easy decision, we've decided to move the next Conference further out on the calendar. Our original plan was to have the conference every 18 months or so, but somehow it slid into a 12 month cycle. As anyone who has been involved in event planning will tell you, it's a tremendous amount of work to pull that off, and it leaves us with less time to focus on other things that also need our attention.
After taking a look at our schedule and what we've committed to work on, we know that we won't be able to make good on those commitments if we're also working toward a conference in the fall. We hope that every understands, and isn't too disappointed. We'll try to shoot for a Q1 or Q2 2011 conference, to be held in North America.
Thanks for your time. We hope you'll have a great weekend!
Best Regards,
Kerry Adams
and the LassoSoft Team
While we don't have a lot of cool and exciting things to share with you this week, you'll be happy to know that we're busily working on the various projects that I've previously talked about, and we're making progress!
Have a fantastic weekend, and please feel free to contact the LassoSoft team with any questions.
Best Regards,
Kerry Adams
and the LassoSoft Team
