Enterprise-level site segmentation improves security and reliability

Lasso features enterprise level site segmentation. This is ideal for ISPs, Web hosting providers, and consultants who host multiple client sites and need good client separation.

All security, preferences and data source settings are defined on a per-site basis. Each site can be provided with its own set of data source connectors, JDBC drivers, JavaBeans, and tag libraries. The Site Administration application allows individual site owners to administer their own settings.

Each site runs as a separate process with its own global variables, e-mail queue, caches, and schedule events. If one site needs to be restarted, none of the other sites on the server are affected. Each site is monitored by the server to ensure it is restarted automatically if a problem occurs.

The Server Administration application allows new sites to be created. Sites can be defined by host name with wildcards or by sub-directory. Multiple Web hosts can be mapped to a single Lasso site. Lasso even allows all hosts to be served from a single site for backward compatibility with earlier versions of Lasso.
