Manchester, WA - July 13, 2007 - LassoSoft, LLC announced official support for the FileMaker 9 family of products in Lasso Professional 8.5 and Lasso Developer 8.5.
With the release of FileMaker 9 Lasso can now access FileMaker databases directly through FileMaker Server. This eliminates the need, and expense, of the FileMaker Server Advanced product for Lasso installations.
LassoSoft has released a Quick Start guide which provides instructions for installing and configuring both FileMaker Server 9 and Lasso Professional 8.5 as well as preparing FileMaker database for publishing. The Quick Start guide is available as a free download at the following URL. FMS9 Quick Start "FileMaker Server 9 is an important step forward for FileMaker as a Web development platform," said Fletcher Sandbeck, co-founder of LassoSoft. "Lasso users will welcome being able to connect directly to FileMaker Server 9. The new SQL features in FileMaker 9 will make it a lot easier to integrate FileMaker and a Web application with a back end data source such as MySQL."
Lasso has been making it easy to create interactive Web sites for over ten years. Lasso includes an easy to learn programming language, support for emerging technologies like AJAX, and support for data sources including FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, OpenBase, and more.
